Florida Attorney General's Response

I have complained to many departments and so far the Florida Attorney General's office responded to my complaint. I am still waiting on the FTC and the Attorney General of Chicago to get back to me. They recommended that I contact the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as well as the Internet Crime Complaint Center, which I definately will be. As soon as I get more responses I will let everyone know. Good Luck to All!!!
Florida Attorney Gernals website: (http://myfloridalegal.com/):
Bill McCollum's office responded:
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum received your email regarding your
concerns that your personal information is listed on www.blockshopper.com.
Attorney General McCollum asked that I respond on his behalf.

While our office is not at liberty to intervene on your behalf, I would
encourage you to review the following helpful information about privacy
issues offered by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC):

FTC brochure "Sharing Your Personal Information: It's Your Choice":
http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/protect.shtm

FTC's extensive website "Privacy Initiatives" :

A potential resource of assistance may be the Florida Department of
Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Consumer Services (DACS).
DACS is the clearinghouse for consumer complaints and has a voluntary
mediation program to assist individual consumers. You may contact DACS
at:

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
Division of Consumer Services
2005 Apalachee Parkway
Tallahassee, Florida 32399
Telephone: (850) 488-2221
Toll-free within FL: (800) 435-7352
Website: http://www.800helpfla.com/

You may also wish to contact the Internet Crime Complaint Center, which is
a combined effort of the National White Collar Crime Center and the FBI to
combat Internet fraud. You may reach this office by telephone at (800)
251-7581, or visit that agency's website at:

http://www.ic3.gov/

Finally, you may wish to consider consulting an attorney to learn of any
private remedies that may be available to you. An attorney can give you
the legal advice which our office is precluded by law from giving to
private individuals. The Florida Bar offers a Lawyer Referral Service
which you may contact toll-free at (800) 342-8060. If you cannot afford
an attorney, you may be eligible for low cost or pro bono assistance
through a local legal aid office. The Florida Bar can assist you with
this process.

Thank you for taking the time to make our office aware of your concerns.
I hope this information proves helpful to you. If you would like to keep
